Journal 70: Social Influence- Entertainment

I think the modern developments in entertainment has both benefited the viewers but also harmed the viewers. IT is always nice to have something entertaining to do or watch after a long day of work, studying, or parenting.  However entertainment has also put strange ideas into people's heads and also made people lazy and a bit dumb. Sometimes the things that we watch on TV are so surreal some people actually believe in it and go crazy. Then there's all the paparazzi entertainment which is seriously disrespectful to those being stalked but the viewers find it entertaining. Entertainment has altered our interests, everyone wants to be a super star, to be someone famous. The benefactor of entertainment is that it keeps people from being over come by stress. It makes people laugh and forget about their worries temporarily. Our society seems to revolve around entertainment. Get off work so that you can go home and sit curled up in a ball on the coach watching reality shows or soap operas. Entertainment use to be the thing that people listened to when there was nothing else to do or the weather was bad. Today entertainment is something we can't live without.
