Journal 69: Make It New

I think new art means art that is innovating, having new techniques, and having new views and goals. Every time in history when a new art movement is created new ways of making art is discovered. It use to be all about painting and carving. Then came molding and drawing. Then photography, video, etc. There are endless new forms of art. Finding a joyous way of making art is also what changes art.  Sometimes old art gets boring and artists try to find new ways of making art to keep it fresh and entertaining to themselves. That is why art constantly breaks away from tradition. The artist try to find new ways of creating art to entertain themselves. Making new things is always fun and only by making it fun will people continue to do it. "make it new, art is a joyous thing." Ezra Pound is giving excellent advice. If something is kept the same it gets boring and art is something that keeps hanging. Therefore make it new and because change bring about new excitment art is a joyous thing.
